First time chartering? You're not expected to know the difference between a jib and a gin and tonic. That's what the captain is for. Here's what actually matters.
Captain Included Means Exactly That
Every boat in our fleet comes with a captain. You're not sailing it. You're not docking it. You're not anchoring it. You show up, get on, and the captain handles the rest.
Our captains have 12-18 seasons on these waters. They know which cove is protected when the wind shifts, which beach club will actually answer the radio, and where the seabed drops off for better anchoring.
What's Included
- Captain (and crew on larger boats)
- Fuel for local cruising (Ibiza coast and Formentera)
- Standard drinks: soft drinks, water, ice, beer, wine
- Towels
- Snorkel gear and basic water toys
- Insurance
What Costs Extra
- Catering: €45-120/person depending on level (paella to full chef)
- Mooring fees at beach clubs: €80-150/day
- Extra fuel for high-speed runs: varies by boat
- Premium drinks: champagne, specific brands
What to Bring
- Sunscreen (reef-safe, if you care about the Posidonia)
- Hat and sunglasses
- Swimwear
- Light cover-up or shirt (sun protection)
- Cash for tips (optional, appreciated: 10-15% for crew)
What Not to Bring
- Hard suitcases—no storage, bring a soft bag
- High heels—boats have teak decks and movement
- Your own alcohol—most boats include a standard bar, and outside alcohol complicates licensing
The Day's Flow
Typical day charter: Meet at the marina at 10am. Brief safety chat (5 minutes). Depart by 10:30. First anchorage by 11:30 for swimming. Lunch around 1pm—onboard or at a beach club. Second spot mid-afternoon. Return to marina by 6pm (half-day) or sunset (full-day).
You don't need to plan the route. The captain will ask what you want—beach clubs or quiet coves, swimming or sailing—and adjust based on conditions that day.
Tell the captain your actual preferences, not what you think you should want. If you'd rather nap on deck than snorkel, say so. If you want to see Es Vedrà even if it means a longer motor, say so. The boat is yours for the day.
